Amherst Road Medical Centre is a Mixed Billing Practice with Private billing on weekends.
The majority of our services are still bulk-billed on weekdays for the following:

All weekend appointments and public holidays are privately billed – regardless of concession & age.

Appointment:
When you book an appointment with us, you will receive an SMS from HealthEngine to secure your appointment. Please follow the instructions in the message to confirm your booking and avoid having your appointment cancelled.
Booking an Appointment: Appointments can be made by telephoning the practice, booking online, or visiting the practice in person.
Urgent Cases: Urgent cases will be given priority and seen on the same day where possible.
Longer consultations are available. Please advise reception if you require extra time when booking your appointment. If you need:
Pre-Consultation for Paperwork: A pre-consultation is required before completing any paperwork. Please ensure you bring all relevant letters and test results from other healthcare providers.
Arrival Time: Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure a smooth check-in process.
Did Not Attend (DNA) & Cancellation Policy:
Please notify reception at least 2 hours in advance if you cannot attend your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 2 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee:

Translator Services:
If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, please let us know when booking your appointment, and we will arrange this for you.

It is your responsibility to book a follow-up appointment to discuss your results.
Reception staff cannot interpret or provide test results over the phone.
Normal vs Abnormal Results:
If your results are normal and no further action is required, you may not be contacted.
If your results require further discussion or action, we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
